Amidah-Tenth of Tevet-Kibutz Galuyot-Gathered in Honor

“Sound the great shofar for our freedom, raise the banner to gather our exiles and speedily gather us together from the four corners of the earth to our Land.” The opposite of being gathered in a besieged city is the ingathering of the exiles.

“He will raise a banner for the nations
and gather the exiles of Israel;
He will assemble the scattered people of Judah
from the four quarters of the earth (Isaiah 11:12).”

The Holy One, Blessed is He, will raise a banner for all the nations of the world to see, and it will inspire them to send the dispersed of Israel back home in great honor.(Redak)

The closing blessing is, “Who gathers in the dispersed of His people Israel,” phrased in the present, to say that it is possible to access this aspect of Divine Providence in this moment.

Application: Focus on this blessing on the Tenth of Tevet as the counterbalance of the tragedy of the siege of Jerusalem.
