Prayer Skills-Pray First-Shelah
The 11th of Nisan is the Yahrtzeit of Rav Yeshayah Horowitz, author of Shnei Luchos Habris: The Great Assembly composed prayers that are the same for all Israel, as well as an order of service that all should say. Still, each individual must pray to God spontaneously for whatever he needs.
One should not merely trusting his diligence and intellect, for no matter what he thinks, “the counsel of God is what will stand.” For every endeavor, one should therefore pray to God, expressing himself in any way he can. After praying, one can engage in the endeavor, trusting that God will help him (Sh’nei Luchot HaBrit; Inyan Sefer Torah 2:216b).
