Spiritual Tools: Yam ha-Talmud: Building My Structure

The 11th of Adar is the Yahrtzeit of Rav Yehoshua Moshe (ben Mordechai Zev) Orenstein, author of Yam HaTalmud (1824).

A person must understand that just as when he studies Gemara, and reviews the sources and constructs his arguments and thoughts, so too, he is building a structure with every action, every word he speaks, and every thought in his mind. Each brick must be solid and strong so that the entire structure will not weaken.

Consider before each action and word: Is this a brick I want in my eternal home?
