Yalkut Reuveini: Ki Tisa

The 17th of Adar is the Yahrtzeit of Rabbi Reuven Hoeshke of Prague, author of Yalkut Reuveini, an anthology of kabalistic lore. He died on April 3, 1673.

“Vayinafash”: Vi Nefesh: Woe to the Nefesh. Why does the verse allude only to the Nefesh and not the Ruach or Neshama? The Nefesh is in the lowest world of Assiya, and therefore is close to the Klipot – the shells that block the flow of holiness. It suffers the most during the week and it is that part of the higher soul that cries out “Woe to me!”

The Luchot, or Tablets, that God gave to Moshe were carved from the Foundation Stone.
