(Sefer Chareidim page 71b) We are bound up with God when we are in the womb, when we sleep and disconnect from our bodies and egos. We are bound up with God in the grave and in the Garden of Eden. We can strengthen these bonds even when we are awake. The “rope” has three layers; 1) Love of God, 2) Torah, and 3) the Mitzvot. Consider each experience of love for God, each moment of Torah study, and each action of Mitzvah, as strengthening your connection and you will achieve D’veikut; attachment to God.
