Spiritual Tools: Tzror ha-Chaim: Preparing for the Day of Judgment

The 9th of Adar is the Yahrtzeit of Rav Shmuel Klein (1875), Rav of Chust and Selish; he was the author of Tzror Hachaim. [Adar II]

If, “Fear of God is the beginning of wisdom,” why are we taught that our final judgment begins with a review of our Torah study? Should it not begin with an evaluation of our Fear of God?

It is impossible to achieve Fear of God without Torah. Our judgment begins with whether we used our Torah study to achieve Fear of God!

One must approach every session of Torah study with the intention to achieve Fear of God, and with an awareness that he is preparing for the first part of his final judgment.
