Parsha Mitzvot: Tzav: Mitzvah 132 – Concept 374 The Soul’s Honor Part Two

“The fire on the Altar shall be kept burning on it, it shall not be extinguished; and the Kohen shall kindle wood upon it every morning; he shall prepare the elevation-offering upon it and shall cause the fats of the peace-offerings to go up in smoke upon it. A permanent fire shall remain aflame on the Altar; it shall not be extinguished (Vayikra 6: 5-6) We are commaned to light a fire on the Altar every day (Rambam, Hilchot Timidim u’Mussafim – The Laws of the Constant and Additional Offerings).

We must honor the forgiven soul that received her punsihment in, “Nihar Donor,” the fiery river that purifies souls, as appropriate to the daughter of the King. We celebrate that she has regained her ability to burn with holy passion and bring more of God’s Light to the world. (Rabbi Menachem ha-Bavli)
