The Tenth of Tevet V

“They that trust in God shall be as Mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abides forever. Jerusalem is surrounded by mountains, and God surrounds His nation, from now and forever.” (Psalms 125:1-2)

The psalmist prays that God no longer exile the returnees, and that He remove from among them all who harbor false beliefs so that they no longer entice the people to accept those beliefs. (Rabbeinu Ovadiah Seforno, Commentary to Psalms)

The protection of the mountains is the protection God affords us from destructive influences.

ToolsApplication:
Part of the Teshuva work on the Tenth of Tevet is to evaluate our beliefs and to consider whether any of them are the result of destructive influences.

Use this day to pray for specific protection from destructive influences.
