Teshuva 5: Do It For Me

What would happen if God would say to you, “There is only one thing in the world I want, and only you can do it for Me.   Only you can do it, I cannot do it.” Would you be willing to do it?  There is only one thing that we say that God wants.  There is only one thing that God definitely desires.  We ask God to desire many things.  But the only thing that God actually wants from us is Teshuva.  And it’s simple.  “If you believe that you are defined, that you are fixed, and that you can’t change, then you are never going to be able to use the gifts that I gave you,” says God.  “The gifts that I gave you are that you can always grow, expand, and that you can change – that you can make yourself into a new person.  That you can redefine yourself. You can reach heights that you never imagined before.  That’s all I want from you.  I want you to feel the power of life.”  That’s the only thing that the Torah says that God wants.
