Tehillim Tools: Ramchal: 97:10: A Promise of Safety

“Those who love God, hate evil! He preserves the souls of His pious ones; from the hand of the wicked, He saves them (Psalms 97:10).” When God’s Unified Name is revealed in the world, all evil will be destroyed. God invites those who love Him to openly display their hatred of evil as part of their preparation to receive the revelation of the Unified Name.

“Those who love God, hate evil,” is the invitation. When the righteous are frightened of openly displaying their hatred of evil for fear of the response of the wicked, God assures them, “He preserves the souls of His pious ones; from the hand of the wicked, He saves them.” (Ramchal; Tehillim)

There is a special promise of safety to those who openly display their hatred of evil. This can be used in the blessing of the Amidah: v’lamalshinim; the destruction of the wicked.
