Tehillim Tools: Beit haLevi: Psalm 13:6

The 4th of Iyar is the Yahrtzeit of Rav Yosef Dov (Yoshe Ber) Solovetchik of Brisk, the Beis Halevi: “But as for me, I trust in Your kindness; my heart will exult in Your salvation. I will sing to God, for He has dealt kindly with me (Psalms 13:6).” When should one sing Shirah over a miracle? Is it only after the miracle has already occurred? Or anyone who trusts that a miracle will happen begin to sing even before it happens?

This verse teaches us that we should  begin to sing even before the miracle occurs with the confidence that, “As for me, I trust in Your kindness; my heart will exult in Your salvation. I will sing to God,” because I know the miracle I need will be granted.
