Tchortkov: Visiting a Tzaddik

The 18th of Adar is the Yahrtzeit of Rav Nachum Mordechai (ben Yisrael) Friedman (1946), Tchortkover Rebbe [Adar II].

Traveling to visit a Tzaddik is a Mitzvah, and, as with every Mitzvah, demands preparation and reflection.

There are two stages of preparation for this Mitzvah: General and specific.

The general preparation is to set one’s mind that his effort is intended to unify the world with God.

The specific preparation is to make one’s self a vessel to receive the gift of Fear of Heaven. The better prepared one is for this, the more he will receive the influence of the Tzaddik with each step he gets closer to him.
