Studying Parshat Parah-Rav Kook

When one pursues the study of divine subjects by the method of pure contemplation, one experiences within himself an obstructing veil that screens him from clear perception. The soul itself recognizes that this veil consists of the actions and morals that are not good. At once there is astir within the heart the longing for full penitence, for the highest kind of penitence. At times this will not be realized fully until it will be accompanied by sincere prayer.  Then will the mighty fountain send forth its flow upon the soul. (Orot haTeshuvah, Chapter 10:10)
