Spiritual Tools-Radoshitz-Working Out For Himself

The 22nd of Adar is the Yahtzeit of Rav Eliezer Dovid (ben Hillel) Finkler of Radoshitz (1927). He succeeded his father as Rebbe in 1901. Known as a tzadik and a baal mofes, he always spoke to his Chassidim in Lashon Hakodesh, and on Shabbos he would converse exclusively in that language. He was succeeded by his son Rav Chaim Asher as Rebbe and by his other son Yisrael Yosef as Rav of Radoshitz.

An old man was met by Rabbi Ber of Radeshitz, and, recognizing in him a boyhood friend, the Rabbi asked, “How are you doing?” The old man answered, “Berel, Berel, I will tell you. What a man does not work out for himself, he does not have.”

The Rabbi was struck by the response, and thereafter repeated frequently to his followers. (Siach Sarfei Kodesh, Volume II, 112)
