The 24th of Adar is the Yahrtzeit of Rav Yitzchak Meyer of Alesk: The Belzer said, ” Circumcision is performed on the eighth day to teach us the following lesson: When we pay a visit we should first greet the matron of the home, and then give our attention to the master. The infant is given an opportunity first to welcome the Shabbat Bride before he is initiated into the company of the Master.” (Dover Shalom, page 81)
