Shema-Slonim-Truth

The 28th of Adar is the Yahrtzeit of Rav Mordechai Kastelanitz of Lecovitz, the father of the Slonim Chassidic dynasty, immigrated to Chevron in 1844 (1837-1916). We read, “And you shall not wrong one another; but you shall fear your Lord; for I am God, your Lord (Leviticus 25:270.” This means, “Do not deceive one another by asserting that you are truly God-fearing people. (Ohr Yesharim, page 41)

“I am God, your Lord, True…” We must approach God in truth, including not attempting to appear more righteous to others than we are.
