Shema-Slonim-Time to Measure Myself

The 28th of Adar is the Yahrtzeit of Rav Mordechai Kastelanitz of Lecovitz, the father of the Slonim Chassidic dynasty: A man came to the Rabbi and begged him to teach him humility. At the very moment he was speaking, the clock struck the hour. The Rabbi commented: “From the sound of the clock, striking the hour, we can receive ample instruction regarding the submission of the heart. Each one of us should ask himself: ‘ Another hour of my life has departed; have I accomplished any improvement of my soul within it?’ (Ohr Yesharim, page 40)”
