Shema: Only One

“HaShem Echad” – God is One – also conveys the idea that there is only one God, and there is no other. When we say “HaShem Echad”, God says to us, “I love you, and I want you to love Me in return. I am your intended. There is no other. If there will be problems in our relationship, you’ll work them out. But there is only one God. You have no alternative.” That’s HaShem Echad.
