Shabbat Prayers: Pesukei d’Zimrah: Psalms 33:15: He Comprehends

“He fashions their hearts all together, He comprehends to all their deeds.” The Nefesh HaChaim (First Gate, chapter 12) writes that it would seem to have been more grammatically accurate for the verse to say, “Who comprehends all their actions,”  rather than, “Who comprehends ‘to’ all their actions.”

This phrase is teaching us that God comprehends all that relates to all our actions. He comprehends all that led to our actions, and all the effects of all we do on all the worlds Upper and Lower.
