Rosh Hashana Prayers; First Paragraph of Shema: First Night
“Listen with complete attachment, Israel,
God is our Lord – cares so much about everything we do, that He judges all,
Because,
God is a Unity – and all reconnects with Him.”
“Shema” is also a euphemism for deep intimacy.
“Lord,” refers to God as Elokim – The Judge. The fact that God judges us means that He cares, a deep expression of His love. The Judgment of Rosh Hashana is a declaration of love. God empowered us to live so that our actions “matter” to the Source of All Existence – Hashem
This Rosh Hashana Judgment is an expression of God’s Unity, which we pray, will be expressed in His Creation.
