Hallel: Rosh Chodesh Nisan: Paragraph Three

I. “Bless the House of Israel,” means that God gives extra blessings to a man who is married ( and can build the world with his wife,) in order that his home can be blessed through him (Zohar I:233a)

This paragraph of the Hallel is for the Builder of Worlds, who is looking to the future to create and build. We are declaring our intention to look to the future as Builders who will be the vehicle to bring more blessing into the world.

II. King David used to rise from his bed at midnight and study the Torah, and sang praises and hymns so as to cause joy to the King and His Shechinah. And this promoted the joy of faith throughout the earth. For at that time numberless celestial angels break joyously forth into song on high, and correspondingly praises should be sung here below; and whenever anyone offers up praises on earth during the night, the Holy One, Blessed is He, finds pleasure in him, and all those Holy Angels that sing praises to the Holy One listen to the one who sings praises to Him in the night on earth.

When David wrote, “O God, Lord of my salvation”: he said, in effect, “When is my salvation? On that day when I rise up early in the night to offer thanksgiving to You; it is then that He is my salvation in the daytime.

“The dead do not praise the Creator of Worlds,” inasmuch as it is the due of the living to praise the Living One, but not of the dead. Hence, we who are alive and have no lot or part in the side of death (Zohar, Volume I:207b)

1)“So as to cause joy to the King and His Shechinah,” expressed by, “God remembered us,”

2) which, in turn, leads to, “this promoted the joy of faith throughout the earth,” as in, Bless the House of Israel – Bless the House of Aaron – Bless those who are in awe of God, the insignificant with the great.”

3) “At that time numberless celestial angels break joyously forth into song on high,” as in, “God will enhance you – you and your children.”

4) “The Holy One, Blessed is He, finds pleasure in him,” as in, “You are blessed to God Who made the heavens and the earth.”

5) “All those Holy Angels that sing praises to the Holy One listen to the one who sings praises to Him in the night on earth,” as in, “The heavens are God’s, while the earth has been given to people.”

6) “We who are alive and have no lot or part in the side of death,” as in, “The dead do not praise the Creator of Worlds, nor do those who go down to their doom.”

7) We will then be truly alive, ready to rise into the future, as in, “But we – we praise the Creator of Worlds – From now and forever –

Hallelukah!”
