Hallel: Rosh Chodesh Iyar: Approaching Again: Paragraph Three



The phrase, “The speaking burning holy living creatures,” means that one should not speak unless by the vitality of the Torah and the ecstasy of the love of the Creator, Blessed is He, and the fear of Him, which is called the flame of God, which is love and fear from God which generate human vitality from above, meaning that one should not speak until reaching the great vitality and ecstasy endowed by God that is the creatures uttering fire fiercely. (The Chozeh of Lublin, Zot Zikaron 18)

 

We sing this paragraph with the vitality of Torah and the ecstasy of love and fear of the Creator, knowing that this vitality itself is a blessing from God:

“God remembered us and will bless – Bless the House of Israel – Bless the House of Aaron – Bless those who are in awe of God, the insignificant with the great.

God will enhance you – you and your children.

You are blessed to God Who made the heavens and the earth.

The heavens are God’s, while the earth has been given to people.”

We now strive for more:

“When God wishes to bestow good, man must be able to accept it. It is God’s nature constantly to bestow His love upon us. Our Sages thus teach us, “More than the calf wants to suck, the cow wants to provide it with milk.” Therefore, when a person puts himself in a state where he can accept God’s good, this is His delight. (Rabbi Levi Yitzchak of Berditchev; Kedushat Levi, Likkutim, p.289)”

We put ourselves in a state in which we can accept God’s good, and sing:

“The dead do not praise the Creator of Worlds, nor do those who go down to their doom. But we – we praise the Creator of Worlds – From now and forever –

Hallelukah!”
