Pesukei D’Zimrah-Ramban- Making Music

“Hallelukah! For it is good to make music to our Lord, for praise is pleasant and befitting.” (Psalms 147:1) One should read this verse as, “Hallellukah! For God is good.” It is righteous to praise God for God is pleasant,  as in Song of Songs 1:16.

It is befitting to praise God as “Builder of Jerusalem,” just as He “built” Eve, with the awareness that  He will gather in the exiles of Israel, after He has rebuilt Jerusalem. He will first ‘build” the Upper Worlds and then the Lower. (Ramban, Ha’Emunah V’HaBitachon)
