Pesukei D’Zimrah: Elul: Ashrei: The Order of Creation

The 9th of Elul is the Yahrtzeit of Rav Tzadok HaKohen Rabinowitz of Lublin: Psalm 145 is an acrostic of the Hebrew alphabet. This is a worshipful recognition of the orderliness of Nature, which is God’s creation. This is a statement of faith, in that the acknowledgment of the orderliness of creation is an intellectual affirmation that may lead to, but is not at present, a spiritual–psychological awareness of the Divine Presence.

This is contrasted with the connection of redemption to prayer, which is defined as the kind of prayer that issues from one was liberated himself from the realm of profane imagination and extraneous thoughts, and hence is standing before God. In this condition, profoundly aware of the Divine Presence here and now, the worshiper is in a state higher than faith, namely, truth: he is actively aware of the Presence as a psychological and spiritual fact rather than an abstract belief. The words are commensurate with the level of religious devotion; he who believes in God is assured that he will be entitled to a eternal bliss; he who experiences the Presence is now a son of the World to Come.
