Mishpatim: Kotzk: Holy Mouth: Mitzvah 75 – Concept 567

“You shall not revile the Lord – Elokim.” (Exodus 22:27) We may not curse a judge. (Rambam, Hilchot Sanhedrin – The Laws of the Sanhedrin) Note: Elokim is also used to describe judges as in Exodus 22:8

The Kotzker reads this verse as, “Elokim,” one who is attached to God, will have a holy mouth, and you will never hear him curse! Siach Sarfei Kodesh
