Metzorah: Tiferet Shlomo: Preparing for Instructions in Purity

The 29th of Adar is the Yahrtzeit of Rav Shlomo (Dov Tzvi Hakohen) Rabinowitz of Radomsk, first Rebbe of the Radomsk dynasty (1803-1866). Born in Volotchova, he learned with the Bris Avraham of  Pietrikov and became a chassid of the Ohr Lashamayim of Apt. He first took the position of Ravof Radomsk in 1834 and later took on the yoke of Rebbe. His chassidus grew significantly after Reb Moshe of Lelov moved to Eretz Yisrael and instructed his Chassidim to follow Rav Shlomo. He was the author of Tiferes Shlomo on Chumash and the moadim.

“This shall be the law of the Metzorah on the day of his purification: He shall be brought to the Kohen (Vayikra 14:2).” “He shall be brought,” a person who seeks purity must use his Torah study to prepare to bring himself to the Tzaddik, who will guide him in the process of purification. (Tiferet Shlomo – Metzorah)

One must prepare himself before going to his teacher and guide for instruction in the process of purification. He will not be able to take full advantage of the Tzaddik without preparing himself with Torah study.
