Parsha Mitzvot: Metzorah: Mitzvah 177 – Concept 453

“When you arrive in the land of Canaan that I give you as a possession, and I will place a Tzara’at affliction upon a house in the land of your possession (Vayikra 14:34).” We are commanded to follow the laws of Tzara’at of houses (Rambam, Hilchot Tumat Tzara’at – The Laws of Impurity Through Tzara’at).

Even the walls of our home will testify against us for our sins before the Heavenly Tribunal. We forget that we create spiritual realities with our actions, spiritual influences that affect everything we own, even the walls of our home. Whether we live during times when Divine Tzara’at exists or not, we study these laws to remind ourselves to preserve the sanctity of our homes by c guarding our actions, words and thoughts.
