Parsha Mitzvot: Metzorah: Mitzvah 175 – Concept 462

“A man from whom there is a discharge of semen shall immerse his entire flesh in the water and remain impure until evening (Vayikra 15:16).” Every impure person must immerse himself in a Mikvah to become pure (Rambam, Hilchot Mikva’aot – The Laws of Ritual Baths).

People use water to clean themselves from all forms of dirt, and the same is true for Spiritual uncleanliness, especially that which derived from being careless in erecting boundaries around his spiritual life. We must learn to practice Spiritual cleaning whenever we have been careless in guarding our sanctity and connection with God. (Radvaz)
