Lights X

“For it is You Who will light my candle, God, my Lord, illuminates my darkness.” (Psalms 18:29) God illuminated David’s soul in honor of David using his mouth to honestly confess his sins before God. (Midrash Tehillim 51:1)

“When God illuminates our soul, we can then illuminate the world for Him.” (Shemot Rabbah 15:5)

ToolsApplication:
We should work on our speech, especially honesty, before Chanukah, in order to absorb the spiritual light of the Menorah.

We should think of ways we can illuminate the world for God, such as teaching, acting with great dignity towards others, opening our homes and doing acts of Chesed.
