Lights I

“Your word is a candle for my feet and a light for my path.” (Psalms 119:105) The Shelah Hakodesh explains that a person who uses the Torah as a light in the dark, when he does not know how to move forward, and looks into the Torah for guidance, will find his path illuminated. He will have the clarity to choose the correct path toward God.

ToolsApplication:
Chanukah is a holiday based entirely on the Oral Law, our application of God’s Torah to every situation in life. We must use this time of year to energize our Torah study.

We should question and examine different situations in our lives that demand choices. We should then examine those situations from the Torah’s perspective.

Choose a specific decision you recently made. Reevaluate the course by researching the applicable Halachot or by asking a Halachic authority for applicable laws.
