Kavanot-Kabbalat Shabbat-Elul & Days of Awe-Psalm 96-The Coronation of Justice

Psalm 96: “Say among the nations, ‘God reigns.’
The world is firmly established, it cannot be moved;
He will judge the peoples with equity.

Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad;
let the sea resound, and all that is in it.

Let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them;
let all the trees of the forest sing for joy.

Let all creation rejoice before God, for He comes,
He comes to judge the earth.
He will judge the world in righteousness
and the peoples in His faithfulness.”

Rosh Hashanah, the Coronation of God as King is also the Day of Judgement.

We look to the King:

to establish justice;

to guide the world in righteousness;

to offer stability and reliability so we feel that our efforts will be worthwhile;

A just world will be a joyous world.

A joyous world can be healed.
