Morning Blessings-Kav haYashar-Picturing Sinai

The 15th of Adar is the Yahrtzeit of Rav Zvi Hirsch Kaidanover, the Kav haYashar: When a person wakes up from sleep he should immediately think of the scene when the Jewish people receive the Torah on Mount Sinai. He should picture in his mind how Israel was so pure at that time and so separated from lower things, when they stood there at the foot of the mountain in awe and fear, with trembling and quaking from the tremendous spiritual experience they were undergoing. Mount Sinai was smoking because of the fire when the Holy One, blessed be He, descended upon it with myriads of angels. And there was the sound of the shofar. (Kav haYashar, chapter 1)
