Shabbat Prayers: Iyun Tefillah: Kabbalat Shabbat Psalm 29

The 4th of Nisan is the Yahrtzeit of Rav Yaakov Tzvi Mecklenberg, author of HaKesav Vehakabala and Iyun Tefillah (1785-1865). “The voice of God is upon the waters, the Lord of Glory thunders, God is upon vast waters. The voice of God is in power! The voice of God is in Majesty! The voice of God breaks the Cedars, God shatters the Cedars of Lebanon!” (Psalms 29) voice is always understood as the revelation of that which is hidden through the vessel of speech, or through the revelation through insights of that which was previously hidden. Each time we are able to look at the world with our power of perception and understand God’s creation, we are hearing that Voice! (Iyun Tefillah)
