Shema: Imros Taharos: Redeemed From Himself

The 29th of Nisan is the Yahrtzeit of Rav Moshe Pallier of Kobrin (1784-1858). A close follower of the Rebbe, Rav Mordechai of Lechovitch and his son, Rav Noach, he became the first Rebbe of the Kobrin dynasty in 1833. His teachings are collected in Imros Taharos.

“And it is further said, ‘For God has redeemed Jacob and delivered him from a power mightier than he.’ (Jeremiah 31:10) (Blessings After Evening Shema) God, redeems a person from the Evil Inclination, which is mightier than the person, “mimenu,” even though it was the person who gave so much room and power to his own Evil Inclination. A person should have in mind when saying this verse, that, “Redemption from Egypt continues in the redemption from our Evil Inclination. “
