The mercy that God shows to one who kills by accident, and allows him to run to a city of refuge, has been there since the time of Adam, who was exiled for bringing death into the world.

We can find hints to God’s mercy throughout the Bible. They all serve, not only as lessons, but also as actual roots for His mercies now.
