Hoda’ah: Ha’arat HaTefillah

The Sages read the verse, “Kol ha-neshama tihallel kah,” – Let all souls praise God! (Psalms 150:6) – as “al kol neshima,” – we must praise God for each breath we take. (Devarim

Rabbah 2:37)

This is what we must have in mind when we say, “al nishmoteinu hapekudot lach,” – for our souls – Neshama – that are entrusted to You – for each breath we take that we acknowledge comes from You. (Rabbi Uri Weisblum – Ha’arat HaTefillah)
