Hallel: Four Species: Victory

The “Na’anu’im” the shaking of the Four Species also imply that we want to display something, as in the Midrashic understanding of the verse “The delights that are in Your right hand for eternity.”1 Rabbi Avin taught that

this refers to the Lulav, Hadas and Aravah, which are delightful and held and displayed in the right hand as a sign of Netzach – victory – for we emerge from Yom Kippur victorious over Satan.2
