A Jewish girl, compelled to pander to the lusts of the Nazis, had the word for prostitute tattooed on her arm by the Germans. After her freedom, she asked Rabbi Oshry whether she should have the tattoo erased.

The rabbi replied that she must not do this, for it would suggest that she was to blame. The tattoo would serve as a permanent reminder of Nazi bestiality.
