Haggadah-Hallel-Chernobyler Maggid
The 4th of Nisan is the Yahrtzeit of Rav Yochanan Twersky of Rachmistrivka (1816-1895), son of the Maggid of Chernobyl. In truth, God’s mercy fills every occurrence of our life. But this is not always apparent to teach one of us. In Hallel, we say, “O give thanks to God, for He is good, for His mercy endures forever (Psalms 118:1–4).” But if the mercy is not perceived by all, “Let Israel so say,” and if Israel cannot perceive it, “Let the House of Aharon say so.” If even they do not observe it, “Let those who fear God then say it.” (Bet Pinchas, page 38)
