Turning Us Into Monsters

“And the Egyptians did evil to us.” This refers to Pharaoh saying, “Let us outsmart them, lest they

increase and chase us from our land.” The evil Pharaoh did was to treat us as being evil and dangerous. He first removed any possibility of pity that the Egyptians may have had by turning us into monsters. Only then, would he attempt to enslave Israel.
