Festival Prayers-Succot Kavanot-Vayosha
“That day God saved Israel from the hands of the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptians lying dead on the shore. And when the Israelites saw the mighty hand of God displayed against the Egyptians, the people feared God and put their trust in Him and in Moses His servant (Exodus 14:30-31).”
What was it that the Children of Israel saw that so moved them?
“Your children beheld Your majesty, as You split the sea before Moses (Blessings After Evening Shemah),” it was not that God slit the sea, but that He did it before Moses! The people realized that even when performing the most awesome of miracles, God did it to empower a human being.
The Sukkot in which we sit, symbolize that what we build with our hands can be as holy as God’s Clouds of Glory that protected us in the desert. We acknowledge that all God does is to empower us to use our creativity to perfect His world.
