“A wise son brings joy to his father (Proverbs 10:1).” All his service of God must be performed with the intention of bringing joy to God as a child brings joy to a parent. One who serves with this intention can then pray and ask for anything as what he needs to bring more joy to God (Kedushat Levi; Va’Eira).
