Eishet Chayil: Tasting Torah

“She tastes that her enterprise is good, so her lamp is not snuffed out by night.” The Yismach Yisrael-Alexander (Shavuot 21) explains that one who tastes and enjoys Torah and Mitzvot, opens the pipes through which the Divine Sustenance flow, especially the pathways to his soul. He will then trust that “his lamp will not be snuffed out” in moments of darkness and suffering.

ToolsApplication:
Keep this in mind when saying, “Those who taste it will merit life,” – To’a’meha Chaim Zachu – in Mussaf.

When singing this verse of the Eishet Chayil, keep in mind your most positive experiences of learning Torah and keeping Mitzvot.
