Amidah: Divrei Binah: 7th Blessing

God first gave us all the wealth of Egypt before He redeemed us, because we needed a sense of relief and expansiveness before we could truly benefit from Spiritual redemption. (Divrei Binah – Pesach)

When we pray: “Behold, please, our affliction,” we are praying for relief from the physical and emotional burdens that prevent is from seeing the expressions of redemption of the Redeemer of Israel that are constantly all around us.
