Countdown to Pesach-23-Nofet Tzufim
The Holy Koretzer said: Why does the verse say, “No Pesach has ever been performed as in the days of King Yoshiyahu (II Kings 23:22)?” Because Yoshiyahu first burned all the altars and the pagan temples. In other word, he cleaned out the Chametz properly! (Nofet Tzufim, Page 23)
Make a mental list of all the missteps of the past year that can hold you back from fully experiencing Pesach. Prepare to burn that list as you burn your chametz, emulating Yoshiyahu.
iAttach-Amidah-Teshuvah: “Bring us back, our Father, to Your Torah, and bring us near, our King, to Your service.” There are two stages: Burning the Chametz that will allow us to fully reconnect with Your Torah, and only then will we be able to return to Your Service with the Pesach.
Haggadah: “At first our forefathers served idols, but now the Omnipresent has brought us close to serving God.” God first allows us to rid ourselves of the Chametz of our past, before He brings us close to His service.
