Countdown to Pesach 2-Lessons From the Exodus
A Chassidic master said, “In the Bible, human beings are compared to trees. A tree grows if it is healthy, but you cannot watch it grow. So should it be with the human personality. It should grow toward greater perfection, but the growth should be gradual and imperceptible. Too much introspection is morbid.”
God did not take the Jews out of Egypt in one fell swoop, but rather allowed them to prepare themselves for redemption step by step, one step at a time. We should not ask more of ourselves.
