“And to remove them from the Statutes of Your Will.” (Al Hanissim) Greek wisdom was entirely based on human reason. They rejected anything that did not seem logical, as false. Torah is not human wisdom. It is completely Divine Wisdom.

Even when we believe that we understand something in Torah, we are only touching the surface of its Infinite Truth and Wisdom. Therefore the Syrian Greeks did whatever they could to stop us from learning Torah, which is “Chukim” to them, beyond human comprehension.
