Confessions: Calling Out

“And Hashem passed before him and Moshe called out”: (Artscroll Yom Kippur Machzor Ashkenaz, Page 110) Imagine that you were walking alone late a night with a wallet filled with money.
Suddenly, you are approached by men with guns.  Just then a police car drives by.  How would you feel when you called out, “Police!” and saw them coming? 

Moshe was at a desperate moment.  He was about to lose everything.  God was furious.  God did not want to deal directly with the Jews anymore.  Just then he saw God passing by, meaning he saw the attribute of mercy, and he yelled out;…….

That is how we are supposed to imagine ourselves at this point.
