Pesukei d’Zimrah: Chanukah Kavanah-Divine Light

Rabbi Elazar the son of Rabbi Shimon said, “When the sun turns its branches, meaning its rays, to move in the power of the constellations, the rays move the leaves of the trees in the Garden of Eden. At that time, all the Highest Angels, the Holy Chayot, and the Throne of Glory of the King, Blessed is He, and the fragrant trees of the Garden,

along with all the other trees, and the heaven and earth with all their hosts move in praise of the Master of All. They raise their eyes and see the letters of the Holy Name that are engraved in the Sun and the movement of its rays and they increase their praises of the Master of all Universes (Zohar Chadash; Bereishit 23a).”

This Zohar is a metaphor for the Divine Light that permeates creation and inspires us to join in these praises of God. Pesukei D’Zimrah is the vehicle we use to join in these praises.

Kavanah-Prayer-Pesukei-D'zimrahOne should have Kavanah-Intention to connect to this Divine Light, especially available and accessible during Chanukah – The Festival of Light, to be able to reach higher levels of connection to the praises of God sung by the Highest Spiritual Beings
