Boyan: Shemini: Eighth Day Strivings



The 16th of Adar is the Yahrtzeit of Rav Yitzchak (ben Avraham Yaakov) Friedman of Boyan, founder of the Boyaner Chasidim, author of Pachad Yitzchak (1849-1917). “On the eighth day, Moshe called to Aaron and his sons, and the elders of Israel (Vayikra 9:1).” Moshe’s call was a demand of Aaron, his sons, and the Elders of Israel, that they achieve “the eighth day,” above the physical world represented by seven, in order to rise above the limitations of the physical world and attach to, “the eighth day,” that which is above any limitation.
